More Room Ballot Details
Hey guys,
Just a few reminders regarding upcoming deadlines for the room ballot.
On WEDNESDAY, 23rd APRIL (1st week) WELFARE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE.
If you have a welfare problem that would require you to obtain a specific room
or change your placing in the room ballot, please submit a welfare application
to Charles White (charles.white@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk). This must be completed by
the 23rd of April, at the latest.
Please note you must reapply, even if you applied last year. Each application
will be considered and approved by the Senior Tutor, and are strictly
confidential.
On SUNDAY, 27th APRIL (2nd week) is ROOM VIEWING DAY.
Please let people look into your rooms and please do not go look into rooms
that you will clearly not be able to get. As the Room Viewing day is the day
after the ball, we request that you be considerate and look at rooms after
midday.
The deadlines for FLAT/9 MONTH LEASE/STAIRCASE are as follows:
THURSDAY, 1st MAY - Finalist forms due
Wolfson Staircases (with finalists) forms due
FRIDAY, 2nd MAY - 9 month/mature/musician/fine artist ballot
SUNDAY, 4th MAY - Wolfson Staircases (without 9 month lease finalist) due
Flat forms due
WEDNESDAY, 7th MAY - Flat/Staircase Ballot Allocation
The rents for 9 month 82 WR and Wolfson agreements have been negotiated. 82
Woodstock Road will be 458.79 per month and Wolfson will be 344.10 per month.
The necessary forms have been attached to this email. Please submit them on
the appropriate date BY PIDGE to the JCR SECRETARY, Emily Crook.
To clarify, the finalist form is for all finalists interested in a 9 month
lease. Finalists balloting for a Wolfson Staircase (9 month lease) with non-
finalists (i.e. 1 finalist and 7 non-finalists) will be given priority over
Wolfson staircase ballots without any finalists at all. Those finalists who
are part of a Wolfson staircase group must STILL submit a 'finalist form'.
Musicians can ballot for a music room (82WR 20, 82WR 24, MB 27, possibly MB
32, and MB 69). If they choose not to do so they will be returned to their
standard position on the main room ballot. If finalist musicians ballot for a
musician's room in 82WR, they are entitled to a 9 month lease but are not
obliged to take one.
Fine Artists can ballot for a Fine Art room (MB30, MB72, MGA40); if they
choose not to do so they will be returned to the main room ballot.
Any pairs interested in balloting for MTB or RTB flats must submit their 'flat
form' by the 4th of May.
On FRIDAY, 9th MAY (3rd week) is MAIN BALLOT DAY.
More information on the main room ballot will follow closer to the date. Like
last year, every individual will be allocated a 2 minute slot to ballot. If
you cannot make your allocated time (in the schedule to follow) please make
sure that you arrange for someone to ballot for you BY PROXY. This is
especially the case for FOURTH-YEAR, RETURNING LINGUISTS (returning in MT 2008)
Any questions, let me know.
